  • About

We  need your support to restore the air quality in Kathmandu which is now one of the world's most polluted cities. Through our implementing partner, social enterprise Lily's Leaves, we are reforesting waste land next to the Bishnumati River. And we are doing this through the rapid-growth "Miyawaki Method" that we are pioneering in Nepal. A Miyawaki forest grows ten times faster, is twenty times more biodiverse and thirty times denser than a conventionally planted forest. In July 2023 we completed Phase 1, the first 1,500 square metres of plantation. In Phase 2 we would like to extend the site by a further 3,100 square metres, involving planting 27,900 saplings (yes, part of the method involves planting saplings really close together!). The project costs £27,800, so, that works out at £1 per sapling! For more information, just visit the "Downloads" section of our website. But please donate today. With the climate crisis, time is not on our side.
